Banded Side Step

  1. Place a band above or below the knees and a second band around the ankles.

  2. Stand with feet hip-width apart and the feet parallel with each other (make sure the toes never flare out).

  3. Drive the knees out wide, aligned with the feet.

  4. Take each step by driving with the trail leg, NOT with the lead leg. For example, when stepping to the left, it is a push with the right foot that initiates the movement.

  5. DO NOT allow the knees to cave in, as well as the toes flare out.

NOTE: This can also be done with just one band. The band can either be above or below the knees, or around the ankles.
